For the past 30 years Jay Duerr has been working in the Film Music Industry initially as a studio guitarist, arranger, and orchestrator. His current role is as a Music Editor and Film Music Producer and composer. This has led him to be versed in many music styles ranging from classical, jazz, electronic, and world music.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas Jay moved out to California after 2 years at the University of Texas in Austin and never looked back. Though his music is very much rooted in the blues, polkas, Cajun, and tejano styles of South Texas he was always drawn to the sounds of Cal Tjader, Dick Dale and the Byrds of the West Coast.  He studied jazz guitar with Howard Roberts, Ted Greene and Ron Eschete and classical with Angel Romero. He also studied composition at Cal State University, Northridge under the tutelage of Dr. Daniel Kessner.   


Jay currently resides in Mar Vista, Ca. with his wife, Kristin, daughter Fiona, and two sons, Joe and Will.
